STAnley is an exciting series of 7 progressive awards specifically designed to teach learners from 2yrs – with or without the accompanying adult – basic swimming and water safety skills. This series culminates in the Stanley Star which covers all the skills in the 7 awards ensuring that the leaner is competent and confident in and around water.
The three Octopus awards provide an alternative starting point for school aged learners, once again water safety is an integral part of the scheme.
The Goldfish, Angelfish and Shark awards provide learners with the opportunity to continue their aquatic journey through these 9 awards progressing from either the STAnley or Octopus series. Upon the completion of the Shark series learners will be able to demonstrate the ability to :
* Demonstrate a range of survival and rescue skills
* Perform six strokes
* Swim 100 metres
* Perform competitive starts and turns.
Three challenging levels bronze, silver and gold, which are designed to refine swimming technique, develop swimming speed and stamina. Synchronised swimming and water polo skills are introduced to the learner throughout the series to create a multi skilled swimmer.
The Platinum award is the ultimate swimming and water safety award; challenging the learner’s swimming and survival skills, whilst continuing to develop synchronised swimming and water polo skills introduced in the Advanced Swimmer Series.
